Can I create a tax-exempt account to order Sage Books?
Sage has partnered with Avalara to ensure Sage and Corwin comply with state and local sales tax laws. To qualify for tax exemption, a valid tax exemption certificate must be on file in your account. Please submit a ticket to Customer Services, including a copy of your tax exempt certificate and your account will be updated accordingly.
E-commerce Orders
Your first online order will be taxed as we are unable to process tax exemption certificates during purchase. If you are tax-exempt, please submit a ticket to Customer Services, including a copy of your tax exempt certificate. We will facilitate a refund of the charged tax if needed. When validated, your tax exemption certificate will be added to your account. Future online orders may display taxes at checkout, but tax charges will not be billed to your account.
Purchase Orders and Phone Orders
To avoid sales tax charges, provide your tax-exempt status when ordering. If you are unable to provide a copy of your tax exemption certificate at the time of order, you will receive an email from [email protected] requesting one. If we do not receive a copy within 14 days, you may be charged tax on purchases with Sage and Corwin.

Please note: If you plan to ship to multiple interstate locations, Sage requires a tax exemption certificate for each unique state or territory in which you plan to ship. Please supply any needed exemption certificates along with your primary Sales Tax Exemption certificate.

Can I create a tax-exempt account to order Sage Books?
The majority of countries that Sage Ltd. ships to are not subject to Tax/VAT. If you are unsure if you will be charged tax, please see UK Tax and VAT charges - Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East
E-commerce Orders
Individuals ordering online will be charged tax, this will be shown clearly on screen before you complete your order and provide payment details. If you are ordering as an institution and you have a VAT number, please contact Customer Services before placing your order as ordering online is not always recommended.

If you believe you will be subject to a VAT charge and you have a VAT number, please provide this when placing your first order.
